Dahouk Chamsi-Pasha
Syrian born, British artist, Dahouk Chamsi-Pasha (née Haroun) graduated with a degree in Architecture from the University of Aleppo in 1986, and studied interior design at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London in 1992.
In the same year, Dahouk co-founded DN Designs, an interior design company, then in 2002 dn designs collection, a design and house of furniture and home accessories, specialising in combining traditionally handmade mother-of-pearl inlay with modern and contemporary designs. They were shown at international interior and design exhibitions in London, Paris, Riyadh, Jeddah and Abu Dhabi.
Her work with clay was born in Dubai during Covid lockdown restrictions, when Dahouk was driven to pursue alternative mediums.
Shaped by cultural influences and her many years working in design.
Dahouk is a ceramicist who explores multi-media approaches in her work, particularly in combining ceramics and embroidery.

Artist statement;
Cultural heritage and social issues have long played a role in Dahouk’s works, which are often reflections on such topics across the Middle East.
