My goal is to create art works which are both aesthetically pleasing and thought-provoking.
To do so I’m exploring the process of attrition in nature, human relationships, and language.
Attrition occurs at junctions where the organic collides with the inorganic; as people meet in love or war; and when words are changed by usage and reinvention.
I employ a wide variety of materials to express my ideas.
Having said that, sandpaper is a key medium with its abrasive function, the duality of its rough and smooth sides, and its potential to symbolise attrition in multiple ways.
