Mairi McLeod

I am a Scottish Born self- taught artist living in Twickenham, London.

I mostly create abstract artwork but enjoy exploring a wide range of subjects including cityscapes, flowers and animals. Although I enjoy working mainly in acrylics on canvas or wood, work often includes a wide variety of mediums including:  inks, pastels, moulding paste, gilding paper and gold leaf.

I am also inspired and excited by new experiences and learning about different cultures. My work is often reflective of my travels.

I have exhibited in a range of galleries and paintings can be found hanging in homes in several countries around the globe including NZ, Canada and Finland.
During the covid pandemic, I also studied the use of art for therapy and learned much about the benefits of art for mental and emotional wellbeing.

It is my firm belief that art and nature are crucial well - being.
Being in nature allows space for the creative brain to flourish and I encourage participants to join me in making art from natural materials, exploring different forms of mark making.

Thank you!
